What EMDR may help with
EMDR is often used for trauma and PTSD, anxiety, panic, distressing memories, childhood wounds, and negative beliefs about yourself. The goal is not to erase the past, but to help your nervous system relate to painful experiences with more steadiness and less overwhelm.
How EMDR works
Many difficult experiences remain stored with strong emotional and body-based reactions. EMDR uses structured phases, grounding, and bilateral stimulation to support the brain’s natural capacity to reprocess memory. Sessions move at your pace and include preparation before deeper trauma processing.
A culturally sensitive approach
For immigrant, Asian American, and multicultural clients, trauma can include family expectations, intergenerational stress, identity conflict, loss, migration, and relational pain. EMDR is integrated with a warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive therapy relationship.
Online EMDR
Online EMDR may be appropriate for many clients located in New York, New Jersey, or California. During consultation, we can discuss your needs, safety, readiness, and whether EMDR is a good fit.
