AEDP Therapy for Emotional Healing, Attachment, and Growth

AEDP is a warm, experiential therapy that helps you process emotions, heal relational wounds, and build a more compassionate relationship with yourself.

What is AEDP?

AEDP stands for Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. It is an attachment-based, emotion-focused approach developed to help people move through painful emotions within a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship. Rather than only talking about what happened, AEDP helps you notice and work with emotions, body sensations, and relational experiences as they unfold in the session.

What AEDP may help with

AEDP can be helpful for attachment wounds, anxiety, shame, grief, relationship difficulties, trauma, self-criticism, and patterns of feeling emotionally disconnected or alone. It can also support people who understand their patterns intellectually but want to experience deeper emotional change.

What AEDP therapy can feel like

Sessions are collaborative and paced carefully. We may slow down to notice what you are feeling in the moment, explore how emotions show up in your body, and make space for experiences that may have been difficult to face alone. The goal is not to push you into intense emotion, but to help you feel accompanied, understood, and increasingly able to stay connected to yourself.

My AEDP approach

I integrate AEDP with EMDR, relational therapy, and culturally responsive care. I am an AEDP Level 2 Clinician and have completed AEDP Immersion and Essential Skills training. This approach fits especially well with my work around attachment, trauma, relationships, identity, and self-compassion.

Culturally sensitive AEDP

For Asian, Asian American, immigrant, and multicultural clients, emotional expression is often shaped by family roles, cultural expectations, migration, language, and intergenerational experiences. AEDP allows these contexts to be explored with sensitivity while creating room for emotions and needs that may not have felt safe or acceptable to express.

Online AEDP therapy

Online AEDP therapy is available for clients located in New York, New Jersey, California, and Florida. During a consultation, we can discuss what brings you to therapy, what you hope to change, and whether an AEDP-informed approach feels like a good fit.
